SJC Activities
Activities for children and adults will be available throughout the day . There will be Social Justice coloring pages, Henna Art, a Photo Booth, a Free Book Table, and much more! All other activities and break out rooms for Workshops and Vendors will be in the classrooms and hallways of the 1st and 2nd floor outside of the Sheff Center. Come join in the fun!
Author and literacy advocate Katonya Hughey has been in the service of students and youth for over 25 years. Her books explore diversity, empathy, and social interactions in a fun & relatable way for all students. Ms. Hughey will be hosting a tea party.
Learning to Unlearn: How we can foster antiracist values and action with our kids
When we come together grounded in courage and humility, we can begin to contemplate how much racism costs all of us, generation after generation. Through simple practices, we can start to sit in discomfort, build racial literacy skills, and embrace the lifelong work of seeing and unlearning destructive systems based on superiority and inferiority. Creating a more just world for our children depends on it.
