Welcome to Noah Webster
MicroSociety Magnet School

Noah Webster Micro Society Magnet School is a community with high academic expectations, where cultural diversity is celebrated, and parent and community participation is the key to student success. We believe that providing a safe and nurturing environment where children and adults are respected, appreciated, valued, and encouraged to develop, will create a sense of belonging and a lifelong love of learning.

It is our mission to guide students along this path by:

• Nurturing the unique heart, mind and body of each child by using a variety of teaching methods and instructional strategies that address different learning styles.

• Encouraging students to strive to their fullest potential by meeting the challenging academic standards in every content area through authentic learning experiences that address and solve real problems.

Creating a teaching and learning environment in which all staff continually receive opportunities to upgrade skills and to reflect and assess effective teaching practices.

Good Afternoon Noah Webster Families,

As part of our MicroSociety, we encourage student voice and choice. Students during the month of February will be given the opportunity to discuss activism in conjunction with the historic March on Washington and the Selma to Montgomery March. We are looking for artifacts, art and family photos to depict these two major moments in history. We are also seeking speakers to discuss these historical events and other occasions that depict activism in the United States during Black History Month. Many of our relatives can provide an oral history of these experiences that would interest our students and provide a real life view. Please contact Barbara Burke if you have materials that we can showcase in Ritter Square, and speakers who can share their experiences with our students. Parents and families who wish to come in to be readers of related literature are welcome. It is our goal to have a parent or community partner participate in every classroom.
